We want to inspire and encourage creativity by providing a truly open platform for artists to exhibit, collaborate and create. And by producing exciting and original exhibitions, workshops and opportunities to participate, we can motivate fresh audiences to follow their artistic passions too.
We are an organisation that supports artists by: bringing them together to exhibit affordably, presenting pieces that push the boundaries of art today, presenting opportunities to meet artists and collaborate on projects, and exposing artwork to new audiences.
We hold free creative workshops for artists and visitors in our exhibition spaces and are working towards setting up a programme of regular free workshops. We encourage collaborations, volunteering in all aspects of the collective and curating shows.
We find that almost everyone we meet is a ‘bedroom artist’ too.
Why are we called The Bedroom Artists’ Collective?
The collective was created in response to a need for helping talented unknown artists exhibit. To support those who create even in the most difficult of circumstances. Those who create incredible things but don’t have gallery representation or a network to support them. That create outside of their day job and don’t have the means or the confidence to get out there and show their gems to the world. Many work without a studio, even from their bedrooms. And so, we called ourselves the Bedroom Artists’ Collective.
By joining forces we can create ambitious shows 'on a shoestring’, and a thriving creative atmosphere and network. Nurturing the creativity around us. Together we are stronger!
We put on our debut group show @HiveDalston on the 2-4th September 2016 and we're planning our next show in early March 2017, The Carnal & The Concrete - Group Show, @210 Brick Lane.
